Shoe Report Friday:Ode to Manolo

Posted in Shoes, Shoes, Shoes! at 8:14 pm by Couture Fashionista

PhotobucketAs many of you have probably guessed by now, I am finally admitting that I have a mild obsession with Manolo Blahnik…and his shoes. His designs are timeless and constructed immaculately. For a girl that loves shoes and thinks that a great outfit stems from fabulous footwear, Manolo’s are a must-have in your shoe wardrobe. If you cannot afford them then I suggest saving up, charging them, or selling a kidney, (well maybe not) but you get the point. They are just uber-fab and will speak for themselves when you walk into a room. If for now you do not have the means to purchase a pair, at least you can swoon over them here, enjoy!

Louis V has a swagger like no other.  He seems to always be a step ahead with his line of clothing. It speaks of enriching material with sleek looks.  Coming down the runway there is always a demand in the middle of the floor which makes his style the focal point of the fashion industry.  As we know Louis V has always been popular in every community we can think of. From the urban/hip hop world to the upscale communities. Spring 2008 was marked as the year Louis V feels there will be no competition. The colors in this line exude the reflections of a clear sky along with the cherry oak wood color of the forest.  Appealing to the eye he makes the clothes flow as if they are weightless but makes them fit like a second layer of skin. Every outfit is accented with a bag that shows class and maturity.  Matching the burnt oranges with the chestnut browns, also the sky blues with the browns along with the cream colored pieces lets you know that he is in charge and loves to stand out. From the button down dress that seems to blouse the body with its material to the straight-legged pants that fell together alongside the body. Sometimes forgotten are the shoes that are matched with the ensemble but Louis V made a comfortable statement by adding the sandals which are very stylish and right for the occasion.

A Fashionable War

“Wow” this 2008 the fashion industry collides with the TOMB RAIDER staring John Galliano. His trends are very unique, and have their own style.  Excitement takes over as you view the line of clothing. It is very much urban meets gothic without the darkness. The style is very masculine  yet grungy. Not in a bad way but in a grungy good way. Throughout the Spring line he manages to put in a sleek suit with a nice form fitting shirt that compliments the male physique.  The clothing stands out with its unlimited amount of pockets and buckles with straps going along the sides and across the body.  From the coats and jackets to the baggy pants the pieces exude a military ambiance. From the satin bondage pants and taffeta coats to the multi-pocketed nylon military jackets. No mistake in what point he strives to get across. If you always felt that our country’s military uniforms were something you took pride in then you can sample one of the pieces in this collection and get a taste of what it would feel like. If you want to enjoy what you wear while having fun but want to stand out and be different, go snatch some Galliano pieces up and live life to the fullest.
